Clean little place i was craving fermented pork after seeing it eaten online and needed to find a place who sold it. At first I thought it was a pho place but I was wrong. That was fine because I got to go outside my box and try something new!! It was a very nice soup and I can't seem to remember what the name was of course but it was delicious. The vietamnese coffee was strong and sweet. The fermented pork was delicious we brought the rest home and ate it with rice. The service was very good and helpful. It was a nice experience clean and friendly.
Small wait time and it does move fast once you put name down. Be around the area as it may be hard to hear your name. This is not a traditional Vietnamese Pho. There is sweetness to their soup, which is a different flavor than what I'm used to. Still I do enjoy it, and it goes to show there are many different areas even within the same country. The portions are really huge and definitely shareable. I felt like I was eating for four people, but I really wanted to try everything. For the price it is definitely a good deal. Don't come here expecting a lot of space and service. Cleanliness could also be an issue here but if you really are in Vietnam, it is a pretty authentic experience. They do at least give you very fresh ingredients and a lot of vegetables go with your chosen grub.
The Very Good: 1. The bahn Cuon Nhan thit + nhan tom was Excellent. it came with a fried egg roll, steamed ham, tofu, mung beans, mixed veggies and fried onion. It was supposed to have a shrimp cake which i did not see. But i ate this with so much gusto i forgot to take a picture. 2. The Price is very reasonable $12 3. The dipping sauce was a perfect blend of fish sauce , chili and whatever else. The fish sauce was no overpowering The Good. 1. The Bun Rieu was ok. It had 3 tiny meat balls and a lot of tofu. The serving size was generous .It was ok for $12.50 but not something I would come back for. 2. the service was ok - the wait was long which is understandable because it's a weekend lunchtime - but tables sat empty for quite a bit before they would sit the next guests - so i think that added to the wait. Recommendation; If you like Bahn Cuon - this is a great place to go. Taste good . reasonable price. i will definitely be back
There was a long wait during weekend lunch, but it was so worth it!! This place is so delicious. Ordered the nem chua heo (yum), #11 banh cuon thit nuong (rolls) (pretty good), #5 banh cuon nhan thit (excellent), #9 pork meatball bun (good). The jar of nuoc mam on the table is money. So good that we almost finished the whole jar. If you head to the bathroom in the back, you'll see they have several hot plates cooking up fresh banh cuon. You can order Togo if you don't want to wait for the table but it's better fresh. Definitely will be a regular here!
Tried banh cuon thit nuong today and really enjoyed it! There's so many Viet dishes to I have yet to try so I'm glad my friend guided me through the menu. Inside is grilled pork, bean sprouts, some fresh herbs and rice noodles! There's a mason jar at each table of nuoc mam (fish sauce) that you can use to drizzle or pour on your banh cuon for maximum flavor. After your meal, walk up to the counter to pay and you're good to go.
